Actuaries Inc.
(Westcoast) respects and protects the privacy of all our clients.
Staff conduct is bound by strict client confidentiality rules
respecting the private nature of all client data and communications.
Westcoast handles clients' personal information in accordance
with the BC Personal Information Protection Act or the equivalent
provincial act where the client is located, and the federal
Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act
(“PIPEDA”) as applicable to each client.
Purpose
To
collect personal information from you or your authorized agent / representative
for the purpose of offering you our actuarial consulting and administration
services.
Information
Collected
Westcoast
limits its collection of personal information to what is reasonably
required to perform the services for which it has been retained.
Disclosure
to Third Parties
Information
collected by Westcoast is made available only to:
a)
Westcoast staff to the extent required for performance of client services;
b) Canada Revenue Agency and, if applicable, federal / provincial
pension regulatory authorities, as required by law or regulation for
compliance purposes to obtain and maintain registration status; and
c) External third-parties based on their requirements for them to
provide services to you or your programs.
Westcoast
may use third-party service providers to process and store our data.
These third-party service providers are also subject to this Privacy
Policy.
Record
Retention
Personal
information provided to us will not be destroyed in a scheduled manner,
but will be updated as necessary. Some client information is retained
indefinitely for legal purposes.
Accuracy
You
have the right to correct any of the personal information we have
on file for you. Your personal information on our records will be
sent to you periodically for you to review to ensure accuracy.
Safeguards
Westcoast
stores personal information in many ways and will take reasonable
measures to ensure it is secure. Westcoast will ensure that only authorized
staff has access to personal information within its premises, offsite
storage locations, and in its system databases.
Access
to Information
Access
to your personal information is available upon your written request.
A fee may be charged for this service. Requests for access to information
should be sent to our Privacy Officer at the address below.
Consent
Your consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal
information is given at the inception of your relationship with
Westcoast. It is your right to withdraw full or partial consent.
Please be aware that withdrawing your consent may prevent us from
continuing to provide you with our services. To withdraw your consent,
